IWSG JANUARY 6TH, 2021 & My New Release!
My New Release
Magic Born or Magic Cursed?
I am so excited to announce my new release Magic Born or Magic Cursed? short story collection.
A bind-up of my Moon Hollow stories with one new, never-before-published story.
Atlantis has risen! Cataclysmic events reshape the globe and a new world order emerges. Magic once hidden is released back into the world. The magical Isle of Moon Hollow is no longer just an ordinary seafaring community.
Discover how the residents of Moon Hollow overcome their trials and tribulations.
Pre-Emergence: Remi and Smoak
A young girl comes into her magic when she comes of age. Is she magic born or magic cursed? So far she’d say cursed.
The Emergence: Poseidon’s Island
A young thief triggers the rising of Atlantis setting off global catastrophic events.
A young boy’s innate magic is ignited early, in the aftermath of the rising of Atlantis. Scared and alone, his instincts take him on a survival journey to find his destiny.
What secrets and legends lay under the Isle of Moon Hollow? A tourist shop owner and deep sea diver will soon find out.
No one expects to outlive their children. Driven by grief, a man seeks the portal to Hades in Mermaid Cove.
Coming Soon For Newsletter Subscribers Only!
The new story, Remi and Smoak, coupled with Poseidon’s Island begin Moon Hollow’s serialized origin story. Keep on the lookout for Parts 3 and 4, coming soon only for my newsletter subscribers!
I would appreciate any help getting the word out as my book has been ranking, and if I can stay at a certain level for two week Amazon will place me higher when it slows down. I published Jan. 3rd. Feel free to share the news with family or friends, and help me keep the good ranking flowing.

IWSG JANUARY 6TH, 2021
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time. Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post. And please be sure your avatar links back to your blog! Otherwise, when you leave a comment, people can’t find you to comment back.
Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!

Ronel Janse van Vuuren , J Lenni Dorner, Gwen Gardner Sandra Cox, and Louise – Fundy Blue!
January 6th question – Being a writer, when you’re reading someone else’s work, what stops you from finishing a book/throws you out of the story/frustrates you the most about other people’s books?
Head hopping, no real conflict that is generated from their own actions and choice and something that is part of everyone’s everyday ordinary world. In other words, nothing happens.
The Writer’s Digest nominations for 101 best websites is open! If you think the Insecure Writer’s Support Group is worthy, please go nominate it. We’d love to see it back on that list.
Prepare those pitches!
#IWSGPit is next month – January 20.
See the site for hashtags and details.

IWSG Goodreads Book Club
Our book club is changing things up!
We will have quarterly book selections now, giving us more time to read. We will also have one fiction book selection and one writing craft book selection. Members can read both or choose between them. Finally, we won’t be offering 5 optional discussion questions anymore. Instead, we will be utilizing the polls that our members enjoy, so there will be one poll question for the fiction book and one for the non-fiction book on Discussion Day.
December/January/February reads are…
Ghost Light by Joseph O’Connor, a book written in second person. Since many readers haven’t read a book in second person, and many writers haven’t written in second person, we figured this is a great chance to explore something new.
Preparing to Write Settings that Feel Like Characters by J Lenni Dorner. This will be our writing craft book, with a focus on settings.
Discussion Day for both books will be February 24, 2021!

Congratulations on publishing. Head-hopping can be annoying.
I hope your New Year is going well. I only read and reviewed 23 books last year, but my goal for this year is 30. My other goals are to publish another fiction book in 2021, do the Blogging from A to Z Challenge in April, and increase the number of authors helped by Operation Awesome.

Congrats on your book release. If you want me to shout out about it in Follower News, email me at email@example.com. I’m doing my Follower News on Monday and would be glad to add your book or I could do it on February 8th.

Oh thank you, I will definitely email you for Monday. Trying to keep ranks up for two weeks so when Amazon settles into a tier I can get in as high as I can manage, which is always one under the one you get up to. It helps with sales the higher the tier is that you settle in after two weeks. Again, thank you, thank you.
