November 2 question – November is National Novel Writing Month. Have you ever participated? If not, why not?
Yes, every year since 2013. I have never won November 50, 000 words. This year I am writing book 1 of my Midlife Ghostwaker: Katje Storm series. I did the outlined as Short Form Serialization on Medium episodes 1-82 and completed Oct. 29th, 2022.
You can read the first 10 episodes of the serialization outline free here, and/or episodes 1 thru 82 of outline on Medium I have them all in list on my Medium Profile.
I also participate every April and July in the Camp NaNoWriMo. Those I have won several times. Its set your own goal, and yes editing counts as a goal, even in November.

Honestly, any amount of writing or editing is a win in my book! Yes, I do NaNo pretty frequently (though not for the last few years), and I’m doing it this year. I sign on when I’m ready to start drafting around November 1–it doesn’t work that way every year, for sure.

As long as you’re hitting some goals, that’s a big win.

If NaNo helps you, I think it’s okay to do it even if you don’t make the goal. Camp NaNo sounds like it works better for you. I’ve never tried either one.
