September 6th Question: The IWSG celebrates 12 years today! When did you discover the IWSG? How do you connect, and how has it helped you?
ANSWER: I discovered IWSG January 2014. There were over 368 people on the sign-up sheet. I made it my mission to climb into the top ten in the lineup. Today, I am still not there, but I am at #30, wahoo!!! I made a lot of author friends that have lasted, and some I have worked with. Lots of tips and feedback along the way as well. I have been an admin since 2018. In all that time, since 2014, I have missed very few blog posts on the day. I admit I used to be better about going blog to blog and commenting, but I still try. My personal schedule is a lot busier, since I started my author business and publishing. The IWSG Blog Hop has kept me present on the web on a monthly basis, which is good for SEO traffic, especially since I have had my website since 2011.

Oooh, I love the balloons! Visiting your blog always makes me happy.
The IWSG has such a wonderful sense of community, which is hard to find in online groups.
It’s been wonderful working with you as part of the admin team.

I support your climb, but dread the idea of losing so many from the top of the list. Many are great bloggers.
The IWSG is celebrating 12 years today, which is so amazing for a blogging community of writers. A dozen years of support! 🎉

What a happy GIF to celebrate the 12th birthday of the IWSG, Juneta! Having to blog once a month for the IWSG keeps me from wandering too far from my blog. Have a happy September!

I’m also that kind of busy but the IWSG keeps me posting once a month.
Love the balloons!

I agree, sometimes real life and other commitments make it difficult to visit as many other blogs as I’d like, but it is nice to always have the IWSG to go back to month after month.

I can’t remember the exact time I found the IWSG but I know it was over 10 years ago. It’s such a wonderful place and I’ve met so many lovely people over the years through the monthly blog hop. It’s something consistent in a world that tends to be fickle and I find that I need the anchoring.

That’s awesome that you are #30 on the list. I can’t remember when I joined the group. I’m so glad I did. All my blogger friends are through the IWSG now. I love that we all commit to blogging at least one a month and supporting each other.

Hi Juneta! So good to be here. Happy IWSG Day and anniversary! #30 is great. I joined the group in 2019. Just like you, the IWSG has helped me go on in the blogging world, because I make sure to be there every month. I really like the look of your site and the happy birthday image.
