    I love the detailed dissection of the structure. I am particularly taken by the quality of ‘falling action’. How we all do it subtly without having known it, while writing. Even in movies!

      We do. And in novels the 5 plot points are always present even when we do not know because we have been hearing one form of storytelling all our lives. Its part of being human all the way back to Mr. Cave Man.

    Most of that helps with novels as well. Each chapter needs those rising and falling points.
    And I never knew there were so many different lengths of stories.

      Yes, short story is a compressed version in some sense depending on how small but there is always a beginning, middle, and end no matter how short. For the shortest it can just come down to work choice.
