Call of the Druid: The Priestess Chronicles – Vol. 1 Audiobooks & Findaway
When an Angel answers your prayers, you had better be prepared!
All Ariela has ever wished for is to be treated like all the other Priestesses and be given a chance to use her powers to fight evil. Until now, her parents have held her back, treated her like a Princess and kept her from danger.
Now she is eighteen and believes she will finally be allowed to embark on her first quest. But when Ariela’s uncle the King sends word that he has promised her in marriage, Ariela’s hopes are shattered.
She prays for an escape. When the Angel Raziel offers her a divine quest, she must choose!
Stay, marry and never be the Priestess she longs to be or leave everything she has ever known, for a quest she knows nothing about—to a place and time she has never seen—for people, she is yet to meet.
If only the Angel had revealed the truth, would Ariela’s choice been any different?

Fiona Tarr On The Challenge of Writing a Celtic Story
The challenge of writing a Celtic story that didn’t depart too much from my theological, myths and legends style took quite a bit of research. I embarked on a fact-finding mission and eventually discovered that ancient Turkey was home to a number of Celtic tribes during the Roman occupation. In fact, the tribes were in Galatia, where the Apostle Paul sent letters to the churches of Galatia. This was the perfect little discovery to spark the first in my latest series.
Call of the Druids is book one of The Priestess Chronicles. It’s a story that takes Ariela, the daughter of two characters from my Covenant of Grace series and catapults her into a different time. The series will explore magic, miracle and the persecution of magic throughout history. As the series progresses, I will get to explore Gothic history, Vikings, Romanic, the Spanish Inquisition and even the phenomenon of Dracula in the history of blood magic.
The blending of known and speculative history into fantasy stories is the most enjoyable part of writing all my books and the research phase is extensive. I sometimes enjoy the researching as much as writing the story itself. I only need to find a grain of truth to catapult my story forward and it can take days of sifting through website, books and online articles to finally put together the plot line for each story.
Call of the Druids started out inspired by the Shadow Hunters TV series. I began drafting it like TV episodes and this created a new style of writing for me; one that used dialogue and scene setting to tell the story, without the internal backstory of any character. The result was a fast-paced action adventure with a hint of Young Adult styling.
If you are a fan of my theological fiction style, don’t worry, it lingers in this series. You can’t have Galatia and the Druids without some reference to biblical history after all.
BIO:
Hi, my name is Fiona and I would like to welcome you to my website. If you are an open-minded person of faith, philosophy or sociology then you and I will likely have a lot in common. I enjoy listening to and discussing different perspectives on life, love, faith, and hope and love writing fantasy which is fast-paced and thought-provoking.
I am a small business owner, wife, mum, advocate, mentor, and entrepreneur. When I am not writing I am either kitesurfing, stand up paddle surfing, traveling or volunteering in some capacity. I love cheese, chocolate and living a creative life.
I am currently writing two new series side by side. The Eternal Realm is for adults looking to enjoy mythological and historical fantasy with some depth. The Priestess Chronicles is a young adult or light adult reading series written for the weekend reader looking for a fast-paced fantasy.
It turns out writing is in the blood. My Great Uncle was George Johnston (My Brother Jack) and although I don’t claim to have his renowned literary style, I do write a mean fantasy novel.
