Infinity Dreams Award

I was tagged by Anna Simpson AKA emaginette for this awesome blog award!

9 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF:

1) I’ve slept in a tent on the beach next to the ocean, ate bologna sandwiches,  danced and played the beer drinking game, “Quarters”.

2) I believe magic is the  science we have yet to figure out.  Magic could also be use as a metaphor for the unknown.

3)  I read “Gone With The Wind” at age 7.

4) My daddy always said I was part fish.  I learned to swim at age 3.

5) I was 21 years old, before I saw the ocean for the first time.

6) I have been known to cry over a book or movie.  Talk out loud to the characters too, if they move me enough.  This can be embarrassing if you’re in a public place.

7) I believe in the Laws of Attraction and the power of personal choice to shape your life when things are beyond your control.  In fact I believe the only real control you have in life is how you chose to react or act in it.  Why does that have to be so hard sometimes?

8) I saw WHAM!’s final concert at Wembley Stadium in London England.

9) One of the best things I ever did was take a 2 hour jet ski tour in the Bahama’s.

9 QUESTIONS FROM ANNA

1) What’s your favorite part of being a blogger?

When someone enjoys my posts and comments to me.
2) How many books in a year do you normally read? 60-100.  My 2015 Goodreads challenge I read 118 out the 60 I pledged to read.  2016 Goodreads challenge I have pledged for 80.  I would pledge for more, but I plan to spend more time writing than reading.
3) Hardcovers, Paperbacks, or eBooks?

E-Books, I agree with Anna, I like having my library at my fingertips or in my purse.

4) What does your name mean? Don’t know, make it up.

LOL, don’t know.  My mama thought she made it up combining my daddy’s name and his mother’s name, but once I was in school we met at least two more.

Meaning:  So Daddy’s Girl?  Yes I was.
5) Have any of your dreams come true? Tell us.mycarBaby

a)2011 Moved Texas to Florida: Dream live someplace tropical.

b) Own a Ford Mustang Convertible: Done 2011

c) Travel Overseas:  London, England 1986, Hawaii 1998-over water overseas, it counts, Bahamas X2 2010, 2011.

6) What’s your favorite quote?

I love quotes, so I don’t have just one, but…  The one that captures my heart and the kind of person I want to be and how I want to affect the world.  It is this one from the Kevin Costner movie The Postman.  (Those of you that know me thought it was going to be Star Wars, right? lol)

“You give out hope like it was candy in your pocket.”

The rest of that goes…

“You have a gift, Postman.  You made Mrs. March feel like she could see again. You made Ford believe he was part of something. You give out hope like it was candy in your pocket.”

This movie has some great quotes if you want to read more. I love this song with a glimpse at the movie.

7) What are you looking forward to this year?

Finishing my first novel & several short stories.

8) What’s the first thing you see in the morning?

The lake through my bedroom patio doors.  I live in Lake County, called that because there are 7 lakes alone in this county.

9) Guilty Pleasure?

Kindle books-voracious reader-Reading when I should be doing other things, Cheetos Corn Puffs, Coffee & Dark Chocolate.

  • This was fun to read. I believe in the LOA too. Things go south when I forget. Great answers from both of you.

  • I enjoyed learning more about you! And I hate when I’m reading a book in public that makes me want to cry. I usually have to set it aside and wait until I’m alone to finish it. Heh.

    • Yeah, I also hate laughing out loud and everyone turns and looks at you like you lost your mind, at least with crying they get it, you laugh they think you’re nutty. Thanks visiting me.

  • These types of awards are always such a good way to get to know bloggers. 🙂

  • Great way to learn about other bloggers with all these questions. I’ll answer a few. I also love when people leave comments on my blogs. It shows me someone was interested enough to tell me what they thought. I enjoyed the recent blog hop and loved meeting new bloggers online and connecting. I read maybe 15 books a year. But I’m always reading; blog posts, online resources, magazines, critiquing stories. I prefer to read hardbacks, but I read a variety of book presentations. Something that would make life easier…hmm. Believe in the possibilities and reach for them. As for fulfilling dreams, I’m a mother of five beautiful children and I’ve published a few short stories. I even graduated from an Ivy League university when I thought I’d never be able to attend college. All the luck finishing your novel an short stories.

    • Hi Victoria, so good to get to know you. Boy you had a full house with 5 kids. I have a few college credits. I went to a trade school, which is not even in business anymore, but it was the big thang, instead of college, when I graduated. I thought I knew best, despite my family trying to get me to college instead. I did learn skills, but not the accrediation you get with completing college. Oh well, it work out, I have never stopped learning about subjects that interest me or growing.

Thanks for stopping by and chatting with me. Thank you.

  • I’m all for eBooks as well.
Didn’t see the ocean until you were an adult? Well, I know people who didn’t see snow until they were an adult.
And favorite part of being a blogger – making new friends.

    • In my part of Texas, we do see snow, not more than 2 to 4 inches at most and not every year, but you can build a snowman depending on the year. It’s really more ice than snow.

The ocean was a nine-hour to ten-hour drive in Texas from my hometown, now, it is an hour in either direction, lol, and a lake on every corner.

Actually, that should have been my answer too, but I love it when they talk to me.

  • What fun. I wish I lived with that many lakes. 🙂

    Anna from elements of emaginette

    • Last time the lake was two block walk from my house. Now it is in my backyard. I like that, but we will be moving again probably in June. Might not be a lake as close next time, but I have enjoyed being near them. The one in the backyard is the best.

  • These were fun to read! I love your Fact #6. I do the same things. I haven’t seen The Postman. I’ll have to add it to my to-be-watched list. Good luck with your novel and short stories!
I’m still thinking about the tag. (I just read Anna’s post.) Have a great week!

    • Happy you enjoyed them. LOL, yup I’m a sap. Love, love that movie. Like Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood too. Thank you, I will need all the luck I can catch. You too, Hugs Lori

  • Hi Juneta, I followed you over here from Anna’s blog. Delightful answers to the questions. So much fun to learn about bloggers. You read that novel at age 7?? Wow. Did you ever read it again as an adult? I’ll have to look up the Postman. Glad you’re living in Lake Co. We camped there for several seasons and loved the area. Best wishes on completing your novel and short stories.

    • Hi J Q I know you through IWSG too. Thanks for checking my post out. Yup age 7, sitting in my mamas deep walk in closet, sitting on the foot pump of her old-timey sewing machine, she had in the back of the closet with a flashlight. No, I was not hiding. I often read like that in my hiding-hole or kid cave. Mama started teaching me to read before I started school. I can’t remember not reading.

You know, I have not read it as an adult, but I own the book still. I keep meaning to go back and read it again. I have watched the movie many times, though.

I love this area. I started in Tavares and I am now living in Eustis, so glad you stopped by.
